Lost Light Speed Driver 2.0 Surfboard Review

Ian reviews the Lost Light Speed Driver 2.0 Surfboard: https://www.boardshop.co.uk/surfboard... The Lost Pro-Formance Driver 2.0 is the latest incarnation of Lost's most popular Pro-Formance shortboard now available in the all conquering Light Speed tech. The Driver 2.0 is the result of some rigorous testing and fine tuning by Lost's star spangled pro team; specifically Kolohe Andino, Griffin Colapinto, Carissa Moore and young gun Caroline Marks. The Driver 2.0 directly reflects the teams requirements for the very latest needs of a performance surfer competing at the top tier. Over the last couple of years the Driver has been subject to almost constant refinement in an attempt to keep up with the evolvement of modern competitive performance surfing. Dozens of boards have been tweaked and fine-tuned benefiting not only the team riders but these improvements trickle down to the average Joe's and Jane's wanting the best they can get for their hard earned cash. The latest refinements include; a slightly more relaxed entry rocker with the ""no flip tip"" delivering more glide and speed out the gate with no need to pump and the ability to carry speed through drawn-out turns. The nose has been slightly widened to improve front foot drive and this also gives a stable platform for landing reverse and nailing those 'tail wafts'. A bit more volume has been hidden through the centre with a pronounced 'vee' deck but still maintaining sensitive rails and does in no way feel corky. The rails are thinner but more boxy through the tail for quick heel to toe transitions and added hold when slicing through high speed turns. The rail rocker has been slightly increased which creates more curve and a deeper concave under the back foot, delivering increased 'pop' and much better performance off the tail. Overall the Driver 2.0 benefits from a little extra volume and slightly more generous dimensions giving Pros more glide and momentum and the Bros get to ride a forgiving shortboard the same as their idols. Since it's inception the Driver 2.0 has gone on to win the Stab in the Dark All Stars ""blind tasting"" with Mick Fanning stating that he thought it the best Mayhem shape of all time!! The all new Light Speed technology is Lost's proprietary surfboard construction built with lightweight EPS foam and high strength epoxy resin. LightSpeed uses a combination of Rapid-Reflex Carbon Fibre as well vibration dampening Innegra-Fibers which are woven into high quality performance fiberglass cloth. Like the name implies, LightSpeed is both light and exceptionally fast to surf, reminiscent of Lost's Carbon Wrap tech but better! This tech gives faster response to your turns and so has a more snappy feel, basically you come out of your turns faster and keep that speed. It works in a good range of shortboards from higher volume grovel type boards through to more performance based shortboards. The LightSpeed tech is a step forward for sure in the way that it improves performance and through the epoxy construction gives your board a much longer life in terms of its top end performance, it won't deaden over time like PU boards do. Don't forget you can also order a custom version of this board choosing your exact dims, fin set up and fin system, check out our customizer service at Boardshop right now. All you need to do is pump in the details and pay a deposit with the balance due when we send you the board. Boardshop is stoked to be a key partner for Lost surfboards across Europe and beyond. The staff here have surfed pretty much every board in the range at some time or another and we speak to surfers from all over the world and get their feedback on how the boards perform in all sorts of conditions so we're well placed to talk about all aspects of Lost Surfboards.
