A-Series Trains on the Joondalup & Mandurah Lines Part 1 (Stirling - Cockburn)

On Wednesday the 20th of December 2023, the first major Stadium event since the Armadale Line Shutdown started occured. Many B-series were dedicated to operated Stadium express services as six-car because of the shear amount of people, meanwhile dozens of A-series lay unused in the depot. Transperth went to an extreme measure, and instead of the typical three-car B-series operating on W patterns on the Joondalup and Mandurah Lines during this time, they dedicated some A-series to run the services as 4-car trains (for a little extra capacity). This was an insane event for enthusiasts as the A-series had not been operating on normal daytime services on these lines since 2017. Unfortunately, one of the A-series broke down at Greenwood and blocked trains for two hours, with them operating around it using the other track and running as a single line between Whitfords and Stirling. This caused massive delays (which was terrible with the Stadium event at the time), which stretched all the way until the end of services on this day, even though the broken A-series was shunted away after 5PM (thanks to ‪@biscuitinthesea‬ for that clip in the video). Returning from the Stadium was very slow, and many people complained at the chaos that had been caused simply from on A-series breaking down. Whoever made the decision to run them on the lines will probably be in some trouble now! But who knows, maybe this is the new allocation during weekday Stadium events, and it will become a common sighting now on these days to see A-series on the Joondalup and Mandurah Lines! In this video we board one of these A-series at Stirling, and travel all the way to Cockburn Central, including the MALE announcements for the Mandurah Line stations. Part 2 will feature the journey back, although only up to Glendalough because of the delays. Some other people filmed all the way to Whitfords, and later when it ran to Clarkson to end services. Check out this video by ‪@jacobsguy34‬ to see the A-series also going up towards Whitfords (more towards the end of the video):    • Видео   Chapters: 00:00 - Introduction at Stirling 03:03 - Joondalup Line Sections 06:59 - Perth Underground Tunnels 12:57 - Elizabeth Quay - Canning Bridge (Male Announcer) 19:07 - Canning Bridge - Bull Creek (Male Announcer) 22:43 - Bull Creek - Murdoch (Male Announcer with Fiona Stanley Announcement!!) 25:30 - Murdoch - Cockburn Central (Male Announcer) 30:15 - Conclusion at Cockburn Central Filmed on: 20/12/2023.
