Hello and thanks for watching as it seems you need some help beating the The Librarian. Don't you worry your little head off as The Boys and I have got you covered. The first thing to note is the Librarian is the smallest lair boss in the game being a size 1 boss with the lowest HP out of the 4 lair bosses at 116 and he will always start in rank 4 along with 3 stacks of books with random amounts of HP. This boss fight is similar to the boss fight in Darkest Dungeon 1 with the Prophet, where he spawns in the back and is protected by 3 Pews. But unlike in that fight where the Prophet never moves from his starting position and attacks you from a distance The Librarian is trying to destroy the 3 piles of books and reach rank 1 so he can use his ultimate attack called Burning Bright and to do so he's going to try and stall you out until then. The first tip for beating this boss is NEVER ATTACK THE BOOK STACKS as that only helps the Librarian and hurts you in the long run so don't do it. The second tip for beating this boss is bringing heroes who specializes in attacking single targets at range or have a long reach for melee attacks that can hit ranks 2 and 3. Here are my 3 picks for the best heroes for this fight: Highwayman Grave Robber Jester These 3 heroes are the least affected by The Librarian's attack Categorize but out of these 3 I would say the MVP goes to Grave Robber as she has access to a single target blight attack called Poison Dart. This attack can be used from ranks 2-4 and with her name starting with the letter G it's extremely unlikely that she'll be pushed all the way to the rank 1 and even if that happens she can retreat back with Shadow Fade. Poison Dart is perfect for this fight as The Librarian's blight resistance is only 30% so with the right trinkets equipped Grave Robber can turn The Librarian into her own personal dart board. You should also keep an eye out for the combat item Death Cap Spores as this item lowers blight resistance and removes 1 death blow armor token and 1 hero can carry 2 of these. I'm also going to give a shout out to Bounty Hunter as he's also really good in this fight but the problem is he's a random encounter and you can't always count on him to be there for you. The third tip is NEVER bring Runaway to this fight as she's completely unless as The Librarian is immune to being burned, so if you have Runaway on your team and Bounty Hunter is not available at the inn you might as well skip this fight. The fourth tip is equip trinkets that help prevent heroes from getting de-buffed or burned and also use the Inn item Apple and Cheese as that gives a 5% buff to de-buff RES and Soothing Poultice for 25% burn RES. The fifth tip is to try and get the Almanac for The Sprawl it grants all heroes 15% bonus damage along with other bonuses. The sixth tip and most important is watch out for The Librarians attack called Categorize as this attack can be devastating as it alphabetize your entire team from right to left. This is why I picked these 3 specific heroes as they really don't care about positioning and can continue fighting after being shuffled, you don't want to waste a full turn reorganizing your team. Final tip is which combat items should you bring? I would recommend bringing Burn Salve, Milk-Soaked Linen, Medicinal Herbs and Holy Water as you don't want to waste time trying to cure all these de-buffs or burns with your turns just use an item instead as it's free. #darkestdungeonii #darkestdungeon2guide #darkestdungeon
