Final Fantasy XIII weapon upgrade walkthrough - how to upgrade your weapons easy! So first go to a save point to access a shop in order to sell your Platinum Ingots,each one sells for 150.000 Gil. Then buy some Particle Accelerators and Ultracompact Reactors! Make sure you always have 99 Sturdy Bones and 99 Vibrant Ooze ( Creature Comforts Shop ). The basic rule is this, Tier 1 - Tier 2 - Tier 3 weapons. First one i upgraded was Fang`s Dragoon Lance, purchase from Gilgamesh.Inc When you want to upgrade a weapon you will notice at the attribute tab on the left part of the screen the name of the weapon, below its stats and special ability ( if it has one ) and under that an EXP stat. I find it easier to work with Particle Accelerators and Ultracompact Reactors. Tier 1 weapon: use Sturdy Bones and Particle Accelerators. Use Catalyst to modify the weapon. Tier 2 weapon: use Sturdy Bones and Ultracompact Reactors. Use Catalyst to modify the weapon. Tier 3 weapon: use Sturdy Bones and Ultracompact reactors. Specifically: Tier 1 - 36 Sturdy Bones and 3 Particle Accelerators. Tier 2 - 36 Sturdy Bones and 4 Ultracompact Reactors. Tier 3 - 36 Sturdy Bones and 28 Ultracompact Reactors. In this case i need a Uraninite to modify the weapon so i chose that and transformed the Dragoon Lance to Dragonhorn! Don`t worry about the stats going down cause now it can be upgraded further! Use 36 Sturdy Bones or Oozes to get x3 multiplier and this time use 4 Ultracompact Reactors, always use Ultracompact Reactors when the weapon is in Tier 2 stage. By using 4 of the Reactors the weapon ugraded to the max of the Tier 2 with a Star next to it! For the final upgrade you`ll need another Catalyst, this time a Trapezohedron which is the only Catalyst you can use in order to upgrade from Tier 2 to Tier 3. To max out the Kain`s Lance ( all Fang`s weapon in Tier 3 will be named Kain`s Lance ) you will need 36 Sturdy Bones or 36 Vibrant Ooze for the Exp bonus and 28 Ultracompact Reactors! Congrats your weapon is maxed out!!! Same rules apply for all the weapons and always save when you make an upgrade, just in case something goes wrong!!!
