34067 Tangmere on 'The Cathedrals Express' 06/10/11

SR Un-Rebuilt Battle Of Britain Class 4-6-2 no.34067 'Tangmere' hauled the London Victoria - Bristol - Kensington Olympia tour 'The Cathedrals Express' (1Z95 & 1Z96) on what was a very windy October Thursday. For the outward run I headed to Oldfield Park in Bath, a location I have passed many times but never actually filmed from. Tangmere is seen heading out of Bath and on the long straight up to Oldfield Park sounding lovely with her 3-cylinder beat when she gets to us and giving us a nice whistle she heads off into the distance off to Bristol which was my next location. At Bristol, we first see a DB Schenker (Ex-EWS) Class 66 no.66184 passing through the 'Train Shed' light engine. Afterwards Tangmere is seen reversing out through platform 11, rather than platform 3 which is what the timings on uksteam allocated whilst at the same time a FGW Class 143 is seen departing. Strangely Tangmere also goes straight to be turned rather than go to Barton Hill for servicing, then being turned. Afterwards we see a cross country voyager set departing for the north after which Tangmere is seen after being turned backing into the middle road at platform 3 then heads off to Barton Hill for servicing. Moving on we come to Sydney Gardens in Bath for the return run where a FGW Class 158 is seen heading east, then a Freighliner Class 66 is seen heading west and a HST set is seen heading east. Tangmere is then seen powering away through Sydney Gardens sounding magnificent, even if there is an annoying siren going off. Filmed on a Panasonic HDC-HS60 HD Camcorder Enjoy
