The wall boasts an astounding 25,000 watchtowers. These towers were not merely for surveillance but also served as resting places for soldiers and storage for their weapons. 🏰 Before the construction of the Great Wall, the Silk Road was a well-known trade route. However, after the wall was built, taxes were imposed on trade, significantly boosting the country’s revenue. 💰 In 2008, Beijing, China, hosted the Olympics, and during that time, the iconic Olympic Stadium was constructed.
