RENAULT 4CV drive, plus AC fuel pump hunt & driving the Dodge pickup

We start the day in our Renault 4CV over at the Hopley House farm shop meeting nr Middlewich in Cheshire, where an interesting mix of classic cars turned up, despite a dubious-looking weather forecast and the added complication of an hour clock change. A real mix of vehicles turned up for this one, and I was able to grab a chat with a gent and his well-travelled ("Car SOS" TV restored) Citroen 2CV, and another with a super-rare and stylish early 1970s Audi 100 Coupe, which was a fantastic old car to both look at and discuss. We then head home, check the 4CV's carb again for a blocked jet, then begin the hunt for an original NOS AC fuel pump for little Dodge - a 1947 Dodge WC pickup truck - that I'm sure is in the garage somewhere. While rooting around we discuss the fascinating (err) back story to a set of shelving, an oddball mechanical gesturing device designed for owners of old lorries back in the day, and enjoy ourselves wading through the many old Dodge truck spares that I've accumulated over the years, admiring the artwork and packaging that was commonplace in the 1940s. As we had to move little Dodge outside anyway to enable this hunt to take place, it only seemed right to take it out for a spin and while we were out, visit a former garage and stare intently at a piece of ground looking for signs of the old petrol pumps that would have been in use there, decades ago. Other classic car related matters discussed include a green plastic turtle, and my pondering about whether to one day tell the story of how an interest in old hubcaps led to me being handcuffed to a tree by a Policeman. So a bit of everything in this upload to the Old Classic Car channel, but it all relates to the world of old cars here in the UK, albeit tenuously at times ...
