Why You Should Come HERE in the Wet Season - Zambia // EP. 49

We are exploring some of the most stunning places in Zambia, in the wet season, in our opinion the best time to travel around here. We leave Lusaka, towards Kafue NP. In the wet season this park might not be passable, so we are not sure until the last minute if we will be able to cross it. we check with the rangers and they give us the green light. We don't have problems with water as expected but many other ones. The park is full with Tse Tse flies. They got into the car and started bitting us, new ones where able to get also in, and we were fighting against them the whole way to Itezhi-Tezhi lake. Here they disappeared and we were able to finally enjoy wildlife. Itezhi-Tezhi lake is one of the most beautiful places we have seen, the light here and the sunsets are incredible. we stayed in Chibila camp, with amazing hosts, Brad&Ruth. They treat us amazingly and we decide to stay here to deal with the clogged radiator at the Defender and clean all our clothes. Later we enjoy one of the most amazing dinners in the best company, thank you Brad and Ruth for the hospitality 🤩 We set off south, but realize that we are forced to cross the park, and pay full fees in Kafue NP because the alternative route is broken due to floodings. We arrive pretty late in Livingstone but everything is worth it , once we see the Victoria Falls full with water, this is why you should come to Zambia in the Wet Season!
