I make for fun, not for competition, and there is no room for hate on my channel as there is enough in the world elsewhere Disclaimer: Most of the products I use in my videos from AK Interactive, AnyZ & VMS Supplies were sent to me for free, but with no obligations to promote them. The rest are purchased with my own money and built up throughout the years I've been making models on this channel. Being truthful about the products I use and only promoting ones I believe are good enough to use is one of the foundations of this channel. Statements I make are entirely my own and I have not been influenced to promote one product over the other. I cannot be bought and I stand by this to deliver you useful and informative videos. Time lapse video of the full build, painting and weathering of the Airfix's Spitfire Mk.I in 1/72 scale model kit as shown by The Inner Nerd. This video aims to deliver the fundamental and basic skills and knowledge needed to assemble, paint and weather a small scale kit, using Airfix's Spitfire Mk.I in 1/72 scale model kit. These tools can be considered professional, but this video is about the skills of basic modelling using the correct tools that make the job easier. This video explains my process in the building, painting and weathering of Airfix Spitfire Mk.I in 1/72 scale. I start the video by building the scale model kit using Tamiya and AK Interactive glues and Mr Hobby tools. The key to building the Airfix Spitfire Mk.I in 1/72 scale is to carefully read the instructions using the tutorial as a guide. Take care in assembling the scale model kit so the parts fit accurately and align as intended. To paint the Airfix Spitfire Mk.I in 1/72 scale it is best to use an airbrush. This video covers the airbrush basics so that you can see thinning of paint and application onto the scale model kit. Harder & Steenbeck Evolution Silverline is used in this video along with Ak Interactive Real Colors, Tamiya Acrylics, Mr Hobby Lacquer and Alclad II Metal effect Lacquers. Thinning paint is very important and I explain how to do it using the correct thinners for each paint type. Decals are applied with the aid of Tamiya Mark Fit Strong. This is a much more intense product than Micro Sol an Set solution and helps conform even the thickest decals onto the Airfix Spitfire Mk.I in 1/72 scale model kit. The final part is the weathering using more AK Interactive weathering products and oil paints from Winsor & Newton and Abteilung 502, weathering washes from AMMO by Mig Jimenez and finally VMS Pigments. I start the weathering with an enamel wash to bring out the panel lines on the scale model kit. I use oil washes from AMMO. To seal in I use a clear acrylic from VMS Matte varnish. More detailed weathering follows using oil paints enabling me to add streaks, grime and bleaching onto the model to give it more used and weathered effect. The VMS matte varnish is airbrushed onto the Airfix Spitfire Mk.I in 1/72 scale. This matte varnish helps weathering as the matte finish allows more oil paint to stain the model surface. Dust and mud weathering effects are created using VMS pigments to imitate the weathering on tyres and undercarriage.
