Hello Traveler, Let me tell you a story. Roderic, a former marine in the Malazan army, had retired after many years of loyal service. He had left the stormy waters and dangerous battles behind and now lived a modest life in a remote village on the windy, grassy plains of Dal Hon. The years of war and duty were over, but fate was about to play a dark hand. It was a gloomy evening as Roderic sat alone in his hut, the howling of the wind outside in tune with the storms in his soul. Suddenly, as if the gods below had whispered his name, his world was turned upside down. His surroundings faded and he found himself on the shores of a crystal clear mountain lake, imbued with a magical power beyond his imagination. The majestic mountains surrounding the lake glowed with an unreal light that blurred the boundaries of reality. Hovering above the clear mountain lake was a monstrous, disfigured, insectoid creature that would have been the embodiment of horror in his worst nightmares. It resembled an oversized wasp, but its shimmering existence pulsed with a sinister, malevolent energy. Its huge, sticky wings moved in grotesque, irregular patterns over a carpet of wilted flowers that contrasted strangely with its majestic surroundings. The scene seemed like a hallucination in which the laws of nature had lost their meaning. Roderic could not help but be captivated by this eerie creature. It was a strange mixture of fascination and fear that forced him to keep his eyes fixed on the creature. But like a sudden nightmare, the vision ended and Roderic found himself back in his humble hut on the Dal Hon Plains. He knew that this vision, sent by Mockra, carried a message, but its meaning remained a mystery at first. Determined to unravel the mystery of this dark vision, Roderic embarked on a perilous journey.
