Bodoland Territorial Region (BTR) is all geared up to host the 133rd edition of the prestigious Durand Cup, Asia’s oldest football tournament, at the SAI Stadium. The unveiling of 133rd Durand cup Trophy held today at Bodofa Cultural Complex Kokrajhar and the Rally commenced from Bodofa Cultural Complex and Culminated at Bodofa Nwgwr along with 133rd Durand cup Trophy. The preparations are in their final stages, with the stadium renovated using modern technology to ensure smooth conduct of the tournament complected. The Assam Sports Minister Nandita Garlosa, BTR CEM Pramod Boro, Lieutenant General R C Srikanth Eastern command Army and other dignitaries were present in the event. The Defence Minister Rajnath Singh, President of India Draupadi Murmu, Assam Governor, and Chief Minister Dr. Himanta Biswa Sarma as guests for the event. The 133rd edition of the Durand Cup will commence in Kolkata on July 27, with matches also scheduled in Shillong (Meghalaya), Jamshedpur (Jharkhand), and Kokrajhar. Kokrajhar will host its first match on July 30, featuring six league matches and a quarter-final.
