2Pac "U Can Be Touched" Ft. The Outlawz (OG Vibe)

I heard the retail version of "U Can Be Touched" first and thought it was dope, but by the time I heard the OG I was so used to hearing Napoleon doing the first verse. As I listened to the OG I honestly thought it wasn't 2Pac doing the first verse, but someone like "The Realist" or any other 2Pac impressionist/impersonator at that time, cuz the sound of his voice was a bit different to me, but as I started coming across other bootleg songs ("Whatcha Gonna Do", "Why You Turn On Me", "Pac's Life " to name a few) particularly "Whatcha Gonna Do" I kept thinking of how he 🥱yawns at the beginning of the song and just came to the conclusion that that's either his "I just woke/I'm getting sleepy" voice 🤣 During the time of working with DJ Moey aka ‪@2PacRadioRMX‬ on remaking a lot of the tracks for the "One Nation Tape" I avoided this song, cuz even though it was made originally by my favorite producer Johnny J, I was a bit intimidated about the thought of remaking the beat, cuz there's sooooo much going on in the beat with the Rick James sample being the only thing that repeats throughout the track. After some months had passed, my homey ‪@joecool4108‬ asked me about remaking it, but what was different was he asked me if I had ever heard this song by OFTB called "So Long" which I hadn't so I went to YouTube to check it out. As soon as the main part of the song came on it sounded like "U Can Be Touched" in a lower key/pitch and some instruments interpolating the "Hollywood" by Rick James sample as a replacement and a regular bass guitar as opposed to the slap bass used in "UCBT". So we first tried removing the vocals from the"So Long" beat to test out the "UCBT" vocals on it. It didn't really work out too well... 🤭😏 The only other choice I thought was to rebuild the "UCBT" beat from scratch as an "OG Vibe", plus I was interested at that point to recreate a few of the elements from "So Long" to add into the OG Vibe, particularly the bass line and the string section that appears on the hooks. I know the slap bass is pretty much the main bass line in the OG, but for this mix I recreated it to be a more of a backing guitar for the recreated "So Long" bass line. I replayed most of the piano and rhodes parts, but not all the way through to give the song a bit more breathing room.
