Just a very quick video (filmed on Rec'n'Share) as there were some questions about the opening/ closing and sound of the hi hat on the DTX Pro and ProX. This is the 14" Vintage hi hat. I hope this helps. If you want to try these setting... Go to Menu, Trigger, Enter. Using F2 (middle button under the screen) go down to Pad Type. Press Enter Hit the Hi Hat pad (RHH135) and check the screen says RHH135. Go down and select these settings; Gain 1 Turning this down lets the pad have more 'head room' Sensitivity 7 This sets the low end sensitivity Reject Time 18ms This stops the pad from double triggering Min Level 24 This makes the pad ignore anything below 24 (vibration etc) Max Level 100 This sets the max trigger level (don't change this) Min Velocity 60 This sets the volume of the quietest notes Max Velocity 127 This sets the volume of the loudest notes (don't change this) Then you shouldn't need to change the next parameters but just check them; WaitTime 1 RimGain 1 H/R Balance 0 Then you need to Save your trigger settings. On the DTXPRO you just need to come out of the Trigger Settings and they are stored automatically. So just press Kit. (Incidentally, never just pull the power cable out of the back of the module as all your settings are stored properly on power down – press the Power button and wait for it to shut down fully) Then you need to change the hi hat pedal response; Press Menu Go to Utility, press Enter Go to Pad, press Enter Go down and change; FootClosePos to -12 FootSplashSens to 50 Save this; Press Store and save it to the kit you are working on (you'll need to store this setting for all your kits if you like it as it is not a global setting – every kit can have a different hi hat response if required). That should give you a much more faster feeling and more 'in your face' hi hat response.
