Hike Notes This was my third backpacking trip in the Winds for the summer. I had great luck with the weather in the first two trips but I knew coming into this itinerary that things were going to change. They certainly did, as I had to endure a series of strong thunderstorms for three out of the four days and I had to adjust my plans accordingly. Nonetheless this turned out to be another spectacular and rewarding wandering of the Winds, so no complaints. Had the weather cooperated I would have camped one night on the East side of the Divide. Another reason to plan a future trip heading that way... The highlights of this trip are all in the locations mentioned in the title of the Video: Cook Lakes, Wall Lake, Spider Lake, Angel Pass, Lester Pass all very worthy destinations. Winds beauty at its best. I simply wish I had more time to explore. This itinerary was not uncommon, but certainly it is out of the beaten path, therefore I only met a handful of other hikers (with the exception of when I reached the Seneca Lake Trail in the last day). It was unfortunate that the trip ended on a very sad note: on the way out I crossed path with a search and rescue team looking for a missing hiker. I later learned he was found unresponsive in the vicinity of a small lake above Spider Lake. He was ahead of me a couple of days in his itinerary in the same areas I hiked.
