Les Paul vs. SG | A Slide Guitar Comparison

In this video I play my 1961 Reissue Gibson SG and my father's Custom Shop Gibson Les Paul, and discuss the differences. I found the Les Paul is a grittier instrument to play and grittier tonally, when digging in. The SG seemed to be "smoother" to play, and "smoother" tonally. We explore this a little further by listening through Derek Trucks solo over "The Sky is Cryin" with both a Les Paul and an SG. There's a mistake at 1:00: The strings on the SG are 11, 14, 17, 26, 36, 46 (I left out the G# string) I forgot to note in the video that I'm playing through a Soldano Lucky 13 Head & Marshall 4x12 Cabinet in all of the clips. The volume was cranked to 6.5, and the gain was on 3.5. EQ had emphasis on treble, while mids and bass were low. Reverb at 3.
