This was originally intended as an educational tool to assist students with learning disabilities or motor disabilities but since they have started to be retired many prospective writers and typewriter fans have started using these as an easy to lug distraction free writing tool. The NEO is easily the most common of the AlphaSmart machines available out there and it is also one of the last models AlphaSmart came out with before closing it's doors finally 2013.
