The official Honda service schedule stipulates that the engine oil should be changed at 600 miles from new, but states that the oil spinner (Basically a centrifugal filter) doesn't need cleaning out until 8000 miles. If I paid my local dealer (£70) to do this first service, all I would get is essentially a (£9) oil change and a visual external poke about. So I'm going to do it properly myself instead. I show you why this is a rather bad move on Honda's part... This is a rather long video, so sit back with a few bottles of Dom Pérignon, and enjoy. Note: I DID remove the 2p from the engine before re-attaching the case! Torques: - Spinner cover plate: 12 NM (9ft lb) - Cover bolts: 12 NM (9ft lb) - Sump plug: 24 NM (18ft lb)
