Woodturning platters remain my favourite pieces to turn on the lathe. I find it fascinating not only because each platter is like a unique piece of art when placed on the table, but also because it allows me to share something special with friends. Each platter holds a story in my mind, especially when I create a nice bead and a step down for the food to sit, framing the gift I'm about to share with someone special.
