One way to help get an uplift in our emotions is to write a little list for ourselves of 3 - 12 ways we know would help give us that few seconds of a break, and lighten our load. Here are the other 4 ways Lorna encourages us 1. Even if just for A moment, allow yourself to become grounded with a deep breath, and say to yourself, 'It's going to be fine'... 'I'm going to allow myself to clear my head.' When you take that deep breath, you ground yourself and you go and you're clearing your head, you're going to just take a moment for you because that is one way to lighten the load. 2. Take the time to leave what you're doing to go and just wash your hands. Feel the water flowing over your hands allowing the sensation and the water to release you. Letting the water just flow over your hands helps to ground you, which helps to calm you down. 3. Write a note to yourself with these words, "I love you". 4. Just let these thoughts flow into your mind, as you say to yourself "I can smile. I can be happy, I can feel good. I can enjoy this.' And allow this feeling to happen for yourself. It's amazing how doing these little things can help us to let go of all the upheaval in our minds or the burdens we face or we carry, even or especially when we feel we are busy. Lightening the load with just one minute could be all it takes to completely give ourselves the gift of renewal, that shift in feeling, which may even turn the entire day around.
