2024 Season started off with a bang! Caught a small mouth on my very first cast of the year and the day just kept getting better from there. I dialed in a pattern where the fish were hanging on wood very close to deep water. They were using this wood to get warm while the sun was shining but if the sun were to go away they could move back out into the depths. I also found fish up in very shallow water for this time of year. Only 2-4 ft of water however on Saturday March 30th I couldn't convince any to bite. On Sunday with just a few hours of fishing Morgan and I each got a fish into the boat. Monday April 1st with Connor was no April fools day. Fishing all day was great from deep water ned rigging to shallow water cranking. With all the success we were having I decided to go try and target the fish I found in the super shallow water.
