In this video, Dr. Sam Schroetke demonstrates Cervical Retraction and Extension, which helps relieve neck, thoracic, scapular (shoulder blade) or shoulder pain for many people. It may even help if you are having pain in your elbow or hand. If you were performing cervical retraction and not getting the results you wanted, this progression may help. Typically, 10-15 reps are performed every 2-3 hours. Check with your physician before performing this exercise to make sure that it is appropriate for you.
