CHUMIG GYATSE : Holy Water Falls 1. Chumig Gyatse temple was inaugurated by Honourable Chief Minister of Arunachal Pradesh Shri Pema Khandu on 20 July 2020. The temple is a symbol of spirituality. The magnificent falls adds to the beauty of the temple and makes it one of the most picturesque and mystic site on earth. 2. There are various beliefs on the origin and existence of Holy water falls. According to the most popular religious belief, during 8th century an epidemic struck the villages of this area and all villagers and came to Guru Padma Sambhavna in the hope for relief. Guru Padma Sambhavna used to meditate and penance in this area. Guru Padma Sambhava in order to make the villagers free from the epidemic, took out his rosary beads garland and threw 108 beads on the mountain. Wherever the beads fell, a stream of water originated and thus Holy water falls came into existence. It is believed that the water here has magical medicinal values. 3. Another belief says that many years ago Heruka Lama with his three disciples namely Guru Lawawa, Guru Nagpawa and Guru Metiwa used to meditate and penance in this area. One day Guru Lawawa threw his bamboo pen and where the bamboo pen had fallen, in that general area a grove of bamboo grew but it grew upside down i.e roots were going upwards and branches downwards. This groves are still believed to exists somewhere in Yangtse sector. During the same time, Guru Nagpawa threw beads from his rosary beads garland on the mountain and holy water falls came into existence. 4. The Holy water is believed to have medicinal and healing properties and anyone consuming it with faith and devotion gets healed from all his ailments. Also childless couples if consumes Holy water with credence, then blessings of Guru Padma Sambhava are showered upon them and they are blessed with children. Nestled in the beautiful Shou-Chu Valley and surmounted with mythology, Chumig Gyatse is sight to be hold.
