Tugboat Dual Camera #6 - Voith Schneider Controls - Drydock

After being overhauled, the MSC Korea was ready to leave the drydock complex. The company that did the overhaul (Engine Deck Repair) did a great job and allot of work. The 2 propellers you see at the beginning of the video are brand new propellers which are meant to replace old props on the ships. They both have a weight of aprox 60ton/each They have a new design which will make the ship sail slower, but with much more fuel efficiency which is good for the environement. A summary of the work done by the company : * The entire hull was given a fresh layer of paint (12.000m²) which consumed about 45.000liter of paint. * Propellershaft was refurbished, which needed the removal of the propeller from it's shaft. * Some engineroom maintenance (replacing old pipes and valves) * Bearings of the main engine and generators replaced * Electrical systems checked and replaced where needed * Deck winches got an overhaul, and also the anchorchain was checked for damage/strenght Great work by EDR ! The ship also picked up some speed by doing that because we also pull forward. The stern tug was asked to put the brakes on a little later. 34:35 Pilot asked us to push on the bow of the ship so we winched in the cable at went to the bow. 35:42 Pilot asked us to pull the ship foward to prevent the front line from breaking. 40:00 Confirmation of the pilot to disconnect the tug 44:00 Leaving the lock astern 47:00 Mooring the tug to get the next assignment 1 hour later. 49:55 Lowering RPM to stationary 50:15 Shutting down engines 50:35 Shutting down generator If you guys like my videos, please write a comment, give a thumbs up and share this video on your facebook-wall :) It takes me 2 days of editting and processing for each video, so i'll be very happy if you share these for me.
