Those were the exact words that my Senior manager told me on Friday, November 18th when I was let go from my dream job as a Mechanical Design Engineer at Serve Robotics. These words have been replaying in my head for the last few days. Although they reiterated it was NOT performance-based, I can't help but feel shocked and lost due to the nature of this unexpected round of layoffs that affected me and my former co-workers.
