I’m not a huge fan of using chemicals inside aquariums. But sometimes it seems there is no other way around. This video will explain how to use Seachem Flourish Excel the right way and how to kill BBA black beard algae easy and safe for fish shrimps and sensitive plants. The trick is to use a bucket and treat infested plants only and not the entire aquarium. This is also a very good method to clean off potential algae spores from your recent plant swap party. Regular dosing is 5ml per every 40 litres (10 US gallon) • The first day you dbl dose Excel (10ml/40 Liter) • The second day you make a complete water change in the bucket • The third day you repeat the dosing (10ml/40Liter) • Let the plants soak for another 24 hours and you are good to go First treatment weakens the BBA, second dosing really kills it. Don’t forget to protect yourself, and be careful with Crypts and Vallisneria.
