Belstaff Brooklands jacket review

Long acknowledged as the coolest, and easiest to wear, jacket in the company's motorcycle collection, we had somewhat fallen out of love with the Belstaff Brooklands as a biking jacket, because it was simply too short at the back. Cut more for the street than the bike, when leant forward over the bars it nearly always left the back exposed above the jean line. Not great in the rain, but of even more concern if you ended up going down the road! For some ten years we petitioned to get a longer tail on the Brooklands. Well now it has happened. The change is subtle, but it makes the jacket far better on the bike. For the first time ever, Belstaff has also given the Brooklands venting, with incoming vents on the biceps, and exhaust vents in the back. And just to cap it all off, Belstaff has reduced the price by £50, which is unprecedented. To be fair, there's no thermal ling in the 2024 Brooklands, but the old one was tokenistic, at best. And anyway, we would always prefer to bring our own solution tro the party. We'd go for Merino or, in extremis, say the Klim Maverick.
