Helping wildlife flourish: (Re)Wilding Waterhall and the Changing Chalk Partnership

A specially-commissioned film as part of the South Downs National Park's #ReNature festival. Wilding Waterhall is working to ‘wild’ or 'renature' a former Brighton & Hove City Council golf course located in the South Downs National Park. The innovative project is restoring fragile chalk grassland and improving habitats for a range of animals and plants. The scheme also offers a unique opportunity for local residents and visitors to learn more about our internationally-important local environment. The project is being led by Brighton & Hove City Council, working closely with many local groups such as The Friends of Waterhall. Wilding Waterhall is part of a bigger project across the South Downs called Changing Chalk. Changing Chalk is a partnership connecting nature, people and heritage on and around the South Downs. Led by the National Trust and supported by a £2.23m National Lottery Heritage Fund grant, it will restore lost landscapes and habitats, bring history and local cultures to life and provide new experiences in the outdoors. #Rewilding #SouthDowns #Nature #NatureRecovery #NationalPark #Conservation #ReNature
