Golden Oldies - Avarta kiirtan

"Avarta Kiirtan" is chanting of mantra performed in 6 directions and each turn signifies a special spiritual ideation: 1. (starting position) "I am the embodiment of sincerity." 2) (90 degrees clockwise from 1. ) "I have innate love for Parama Purus'a (Supreme)." 3) (180 degrees clockwise from 1. ) " I will purify my mind with fire of devotion." 4) (270 degrees clockwise from 1. ) "I am overcoming all internal and external obstacles." 5) (starting position, looking upwards) "Oh, Lord, take me onto Your lap." 6) (looking down) "I surrender my everything to You." After my first retreat in Cyprus in 2011, Cosmic (Co)incidence offered a wonderful opportunity to record some Kiirtan tunes created & loved by many early "overseas" devotees over the decades. Brother Pranav from Cyprus so very kindly agreed on the spot to find their chords & embellish them with his exquisite skills & tools of a concert guitarist, while handheld Zoom recorder managed to capture most of that magic in one sitting, one tune after another... In summer of 2023 the right video-resolution finally captured well the charm of waterlilies (genus Nymphaea) in Botanical Garden of the Faculty of Science, University of Zagreb. Not lotus-flowers, but close enough... And then in winter of 2024 Vivek generously combined it all into this seamless stream of beauty & joy, including even the birdsong of a Cyprus Warbler for a good measure 😇 Lastly, it is a special privilege to release it on the 72nd birthday of a great devotee and Worker of Ba'ba' who's also been the best friend & colleague for the last 32 years: Didi A'nanda Prama' 🍀 Enjoy diving with us into the Golden Dreamland...
