Walking in Barcelona, Spain. 4K City Walk

A Barcelona City Walk recorded in Barcelona, Spain in August 2020 featuring the Gothic Quarter (Barrio Gótico), the Barcelona Cathedral (Catedral de la Santa Creu i Santa Eulàlia), Plaça de Catalunya, the Historic Building of the University of Barcelona (Universitat de Barcelona), La Rambla, the Columbus Monument (Monument a Colom), the Arc de Triomf. Immerse into this magical ambience with the Minister of Ambience. It is the end of summer 2020. We travel to the heart of the Catalonia region in Spain - the city of Barcelona. It is a warm and sunny day and we begin our walk at Passeig de Lluís Companys near the Arc de Triomf (a local triumphal arch). We head west to Plaça d'Urquinaona and then towards Gran Via de Les Corts Catalanes, one of the longest avenues in the country. Many famous places are located here such as Cinema Coliseum (Teatre Coliseum) and the historic campus of the University of Barcelona, to name a few. We then turn back eastwards onto Carrer de Pelai, a major shopping street in Barcelona, which is considered to be one of the busiest places in the city in the daytime. Our next turn is onto La Rambla, which we cover in full from the south-most corner of Plaça de Catalunya up to its end by the Columbus Monument at Port Vell. Next follows a stroll along the Mediterranean coast and Passeig de Colom, with its stunning view of many palm trees. By El Cap de Barcelona sculpture (the Head of Barcelona), we change direction to explore the old, medieval part of the city - Gothic Quarter, with its narrow streets and historical landmarks, some of which we visit. Plaça Nova is of particular interest here. It is a lively square in the middle of the quarter locating the Barcelona Cathedral (formally known as the Cathedral of the Holy Cross and Saint Eulalia), La Casa de l'Ardiaca, and fragments of the ancient Roman city wall. Our next destination is Plaça de Catalunya, where we get through a pedestrian street called Portal de l'Àngel, another shopping place famous for being the most expensive street in Spain. The journey ends at Plaça d'Urquinaona, completing our walking circle for today.
