A 7 day hike with my cousin Michelle who I hadn't seen for 42 years! This was her very FIRST backpacking trip. The video tells our reunion story on trail. It was an amazing time! I'm not gonna lie... Copper Creek trail is a killer starting climb from the trailhead at Roads End in Kings Canyon National Park, but once over the LIP the interior rewards you with views for days! Granite Basin and Granite Pass lead into more and more incredible and remote beauty. Up the Middle Fork of the Kings River to the JMT/PCT junction is nothing but sublime river views. Then south on the PCT up the Golden Staircase, over Mather and Pinchot Pass, past Dollar Lake and the Rae Lakes and over Glen. These miles on this part of the PCT are the High Sierra GOLD standard in my opinion.
