Retro Oddities 12: "Personal Organiser" (Nintendo Game Boy) - 6 July 2024

This is an anomaly among the Game Boy catalogue in that it's an application (or app) in the form of a personal organiser. Yes, 30 years ago, when such devices were all the rage and just before PDAs came into being (and long before smartphones were such a device), we had personal organisers... it baffles me that such a concept could have been developed and published on a handheld console meant mainly for gaming (complete with battery backup), but then again, considering how the Game Boy also had a camera, printer and even a MIDI interface made for it, I really shouldn't be too surprised. I can see how this might have been useful 30 years ago when the Internet was in its infancy and still mainly the stuff of science fiction, but now in the smartphone era, this app doesn't seem all that useful except for maybe historical value and/or curiosity (I actually used my copy of this app on my own Game Boy all those years ago, and surprisingly, it actually worked quite well).
