T1N Sprinter Permanent Solution to Broken / Stuck /Not Working AC Climate Control Recirculation Flap

I'm a sucker for hard luck cases I guess. I've had several T1N Sprinters over the years and they all seem to have some issue with the AC not getting as cold as it should, usually in slower city driving. Usually the issue is with the recirculation flap not opening or closing correctly. The actuator doesn't work because of a weak vacuum, or the arm is broken that closes the flap. In this case it would close, but not fully. And on these Sprinters (and most other Mercedes vehicles) if you do choose to recirculate, it automatically opens back up every 15 minutes. Very annoying on long drives. So a few sprinters back I decided to close the flap permanently (recirculate), and have been happier for it. Colder air, especially in the city at slower speeds. I can always get a little fresh air opening the window a bit. I'm sure there are some better solutions out there, but this works for me. I live in a humid climate and have never experienced mildew or mold buildup inside the cabin filter area as I have the windows down often, but if you do this you may want to change your cabin filter more often, and clean out behind the cover with a disinfectant every time.
