The next step is to pay the visa application fee. To learn more about the fees for each visa category and bank locations where fees can be paid, click on “Visa Fees”. When you’re ready to make your visa fee payment, visit the homepage and select “Apply now”. On the first page, if you are not registered you will need to create an account. We recommend that you apply for your visa at least 90 days before you plan to travel and that you do not make travel reservations until you receive a visa in your passport. While most qualified applicants receive their visas within one business day, some visas are subject to administrative processing, which can take one to four months or longer to complete. This processing cannot be waived or expedited. If you have an urgent need to travel, schedule the earliest available appointment, and then send a request to the call center for an expedited appointment. Select the “Apply for Expedited Visa Processing” link to learn more. Emergency appointment requests are considered in limited cases, for urgent medical or business travel, or for students and exchange visitors. There is no guarantee that an appointment can be expedited. Now you are ready to apply for your visa to visit the United States.
