3 Levels of Blues Slide Guitar for Beginners

New Guitar tutorials every Monday Today we are going to learn how to play a 12 bar blues in the key of D with an open tuning in D. This is my favorite open tuning and my favorite alternate tuning, I think it is more fun then open G, DADGAD and Drop D, it has a very cool sound, low end and power. Another thing that I really like about it is that you detune, or tune down, to get the tuning as opposed to tuning up. I don't like to add too much tension to my guitar strings or my guitar's neck. We are going to give you some general slide tips then go through a basic 12 bar loop loop that is a strummer 12 bar in D with a slide. Then we are going to add the powerful III chord, which really add some power and slide to the first four measures and we will add a turnaround, a good turnaround goes a very long way. Lastly we are going through the 12 bar for the third time and we are going to add a really nice octave lick to it and make the guitar scream!
