Disadvantaged Business Enterprise (DBE) Certification Webinar

Watch this recorded webinar to learn how to apply for the Disadvantaged Business Enterprise (DBE) certification. This federal certification expands opportunities for minority and women-owned businesses to work with state and local agencies on federally-funded projects. Amanda Himes and Danella Reynolds, outreach specialists with the Caltrans Office of Civil Rights, provide a detailed overview of how to apply for DBE certification and answer questions from a live audience. Kristina Krunkel, Director of the NorCal Procurement Technical Assistance Center (PTAC) also joins this presentation to share free business resources and can help you navigate government contracting. Eligibility requirements for DBE Certification • Firm must be at least 51% owned, or majority owned, by one or more socially and economically disadvantaged individual(s) *Disadvantaged groups include: Black Americans, Hispanic Americans, Native Americans, Asian-Pacific Americans, Subcontinent Asian Americans, Women, and Other • Average annual gross receipts for the firm’s previous three fiscal years cannot exceed $23.98 million • Personal net-worth of disadvantaged owner cannot exceed $1.32 million • A qualifying owner’s duties must include managerial and operational control of the business.
