Six Lessons Learned for Advancing Racial Equity in Justice and Behavioral Health Systems

The MacArthur Foundation’s Safety and Justice Challenge (SJC) aims to reduce jail incarceration and increase racial equity. The Council of State Governments (CSG) Justice Center convened four SJC sites as part of a cohort to support connections among the sites and disseminate tips and strategies to the field on advancing racial equity through programming and practices. Join the CSG Justice Center for a facilitated panel discussion to learn about counties’ efforts to advance equity in their criminal justice and behavioral health systems. This webinar will be facilitated by Orleny Rojas from the Center for Effective Public Policy, with discussion structured around six key themes for implementing and maintaining initiatives focused on racial equity. County panelists will share their experiences and advice for keeping up momentum for racial equity initiatives and how to celebrate “small wins” in the face of challenges.
