Derek doesn't play on The Ones Who Help to Set the Sun, since it was low on his priority list of songs to learn, and he couldn't learn it in time. This was his 8th performance with Dream Theater. In between Voices and The Silent Man, it seemed like John was having difficulties with his acoustic guitar, which caused the long pause in between the two songs, and made him resort to playing The Silent Man with his electric. The band would intentionally play the song this way years later, but this show probably marks the first time it was played live with an electric guitar.
