In December 2023 we took a day trip from Khao Lak to one of the places we have most been looking forward to visiting, the magnificent Similan Islands. This day trip is done from Khao Lak or Phuket, including Patong, Karon and the other towns on Phuket Island. The boat trip takes off from Thap Lamu Port in the Khao Lak region and takes about 90 mins on the boat before you get out to the Similan Island Archipelago. The Boat Trip is targeted towards people that are interested in Snorkeling and we had some of the best Snorkeling we have ever had in our lives. We were able to dive with the magnificent Green Sea Turtles and an abundance of Sea Life, plus we got to see beautiful healthy coral in many varieties.
