The SCREAMING Ferrari F12berlinetta | Mountain Pass Review

As a car guy, I don’t have one dream car. But there’s one that holds a special place in my heart; a car that when I own, I will say I made it. A car that has not aged a day, is faster than most cars on the market, and has one of the most iconic and best sounding powertrains to be engineered by mankind, ever. This 2016 F12berlinetta officially dethroned the 718 Cayman GT4 RS as my favorite car I’ve ever driven. I LOVE me a long hood/short end sportscar. Here are my thoughts: • The powertrain works exactly the same way I imagined – everybody should experience an Italian V12 at least once in their life. It’s super high revving, the gearbox is phenomenal and the exhaust sound is piercing – I love it. It’s already very loud for public roads, but I would die for an IPE or Novitec exhaust. • I had more fun in Race when traction control didn’t intervene all that much. But you have to be VERY careful with your right foot and be ready to correct counter steer quickly – oh and what a steering feel, so fast with so much feedback. • 740 PS to the rear wheels – 690 N.m – 1,630 kg – 3.1 sec • It feels heavy, but there’s too much power to even care - ceramic brakes mean business, it stops instantly. • It’s an overall easy car to live with – sort of like a lunatic BMW M4. This is definitely a car I see myself owning – it’s practical and comfortable and has a Ferrari badge. • BEST ERA FERRARI INTERIOR! The steering wheel is perfect with the shift lights (feels thick but has a superb 9 and 3 grip), no touch screen is a YES for me… • The design? Still one of the most beautiful cars ever made, point. It’s also the last Ferrari designed by Pininfarina. I do agree the 812 is sexy af.
