TRAWLER LIFE: TOKO returns to Catalina Island! Catch and Cook!!!

We rounded up the crew for another venture to Catalina Island in search of fish and lobsters! After being skunked for the entire journey over and the first couple dive spots, we finally got lucky with three big ol lobster and a rockfish! This trip was especially nice because it was waaayyyy less crowded than the last few trips (I guess winter is the time to go!). We were one of only 4 boats in 4th of July Cove and basically had all of the local areas to ourselves! Yeah, that means no waiting around for buffalo milks! TOKO was a champ with her crew of 3, aided by a few upgrades before hand including a doubling of the battery bank (I now have 775 amp hours!) so we had no concerns for power the whole time. Every time I make a passage with this boat I love her a little more! She is the perfect boat for coastal cruising in comfort with space for 2 in the v-berth and the captains cabin back aft. I carry 175 gallons of fresh water and 250 gallons of fuel so there’s hardly a concern for provisioning along the way. I did notice that the Racor filters have been clogging up a bit faster than usual… but we’ll save that for another video! Thanks for watching!
