Andrew Dixon: Sit On Me Jesus (Original)

Andrew Dixon - Andrew Dixon: Sit On Me Jesus (Original) - PMBP - Life and Message- Andrew Dixon was born to Derrick Dixon and Joy Dixon at the Mandeville Hospital in Manchester, Jamaica. He was raised in a very small rural community called Battersea District, at the border of Trelawny, St. Ann, and Manchester. He is the only surviving child for his parents and was nurtured in the fear of the Lord and willingly requested to be baptized in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of his sins, at the tender age of seven (7) on April 2, 1994 and started to follow the Lord according to what he knew and was taught. For eight years he went to church tarrying (which simply means waiting) for the promise of the Father, which saith he, “Tarry till ye be endued with Power from on high…”. One blessed Friday morning, August 22, 2003 while in prayer service, the Lord filled him with the gift of the Holy Spirit (for truly the sign followed when he spoke in tongues as the Holy Ghost gave utterance) just like the bible said. Andrew’s musical training began at in the same year that he got baptized when his parents noticed his talent. He was always drumming on the dishes and using the utensils as drum sticks. He was able to teach himself simple melodies on the recorder, and was able to distinguish melodic and harmonic lines when he visit adult choir practise with his parents. A year earlier (at six years old), he was discovered as a future vocalist when he would sing in church before the preacher; and was applauded for his boldness in making a request on his own to sing in the presence of the entire congregation as if he had been doing this for years. Throughout his years in church and school, his leadership and musical qualities where evident, and he would almost always become the band leader, choir director, lead-singer for every band or choir that he was associated with. He went on to win performance medals at the JCDC school festival and National Gospel festival with his entry “God is my Refuge” which is also included on this album. Since then he has not looked back, because he believes that he should be faithful to the God of the Universe that called him from the world of darkness. It has not been a ‘flowery bed of ease’ though, because there were many struggles and challenges in the way – and there are still battles to be fought. But he believes that he can do all things through Christ who strengthens him. Andrew is looking to impact the world in a positive way through the message that is brought in the songs he writes and sings; and moreover by the life that he lives. He has written well over one hundred songs so far, and continues to write everytime the inspiration of God comes upon him; it is with great faith that he believes he will be able to share some or all of these songs with the world, so that the ears of them that hear may be blessed. He does not see himself as an entertainer or ‘Artiste’, but rather a worshiper of the Lord in spirit and in truth. His songs should not cater to the flesh but fully align This lo-fi version of this song / video is currently displayed via the Symphonic Distribution YouTube with full permission from the record label distributing the release.
