With the MITRE ATT&CK framework, you can understand the modus-operandi of potential attackers. But how exactly can you use this framework to stop ransomware? A typical ransomware attack has five stages: Initial exploitation, installation, backup destruction, encryption, and extortion. In this talk, I will try to map each of these stages to the different tactics and techniques identified in the MITRE ATT&CK.
