Dashi (floats) 14 floats parade during the autumn "Suwa-jinja Aki Matsuri". The floats are 4m tall and have figures mounted on top modelled after mythical and historical figures. There are over 40 songs performed by musicians riding on the floats, and add to the unique atmosphere of the festival. This tradition has continued for 300 years. When the floats are stationary the teams pulling them around the town perform dances and drink. Inoh Tadataka Sawara is known as the home of Inoh Tadataka (1745-1818), a man who surveyed the geographical features of Japan and created the first map of the country during the Edo era. #chiba #sawara #japanesefestival #matsuri #walkingtour #walkingtours Other useful groups for visiting Japan: 🚅The Japan Travel Club:   / japantravel-club-152987858819551   🚅Return To Japan:   / returntojapan
