NOTTINGHAM VICTORIA STATION - TWILIGHT

We have prepared something a little special for you all. The recently surfaced video featuring rare footage of the demolition of the station went down a storm. We finally decided it was time to attempt something we had been wanting to do for a while; put together a 'short film' of sorts, featuring multiple clips of the station's last days, the demolition and construction of the Victoria Centre that replaced it. This is a videographic story of the station's last days...its 'twilight'. This might be the first of a few attempts of making a video like this, with the possibility of extending when new footage turns up. We have tried to be un-biased toward the context of the video, as can be seen in the accompanying text. We wanted to present factual comments and sit 'on the fence'...it's only professional to do so really. We have tried to stick to reality as far as possible in this way. If you would like to debate some of the points raised, we would enjoy discussing them with you. We do not own any of the footage or music featured. You might recognise the music from 'The Crown'. It just fit really well...almost too well really...especially as far as music theory goes. Neither do we want to see too much negativity in the comments, if we may ask that of you. We simply encourage to look at the facts presented and understand that while the way things transpired might have been distasteful, they did happen for reasons that could have been justified at the time, as unfortunate as that might be. We understand the terms by which Nottingham Victoria Station was closed, but we too like so many wish that something more was preserved, but it was not to be, and we should be grateful for that which still stands as a reminder of the fact that a magnificent station once existed in the heart of Nottingham. Hopefully you enjoy the production quality of this, as we're rather proud of it. Thank you to those who provided the footage shown, hopefully they do not mind that we have accumulated them into a narrative made in the name of entertainment and education.
