In this video I attempt to demonstrate the concept of compensating for lag. Everything you see happening in the game on your screen is delayed based on how high your ping is. In order for your moves to hit and to avoid hits your self, you have to act preemptively. Don't swing for where they are, swing for where they are going to be. If you see an enemy charging at you from 5 ft away, react as if they are actually 3 ft away. By learning to compensate for lag in this game you will notice a dramatic improvement. Hits will land better, your timing will improve, and your footwork will improve as well.
