An hour watching trains at Firenze Santa Maria Novella railway station 26/06/2024

Here is a video I took during one hour at the station of Firenze Santa Maria Novella (Firenze SMN) on the 26/06/2024. I have tried my best to identify the trains via the index points. Firenze SMN is a huge terminus station where regional trains depart for Lucca, Pisa, Livorno, the Cinqueterre coast, Bologna and traditional routes to Rome. Many high speed trains also reverse during their journeys up and down the Direttissima high speed line. I was at the station between 10:00-11:00am, so there were no night trains or traditional InterCity trains about. The station is named after Santa Maria Novella church- you can see the bell tower in the background from time to time. There are changes afoot- there is a new "passante" underground line being built, so that high speed trains can run through the city without getting snarled up with regional traffic, or needing to reverse. Although the videos seem like the station is quite laid back, there is actually an awful lot going on. The amount of high speed train movements is spectacular! I have wanted to make a video at this classic Italian railway location for ages! Trains in this video: Trenitalia: ETR1000 - Hitachi (developed by AnsaldoBreda, Alstom and Bombardier) from 2013- based on Bombardier Zefiro and AB V250 platforms. High Speed train used on FR services. ETR500 (series 2) - AnsaldoBreda- 2x multi-voltage E404.6xx series power cars from 2006 per train, coaches from 1992. Original 3000v only power cars now E414 and used with InterCity rakes. Current rakes used on FR services E464 locos with "Vivalto" coaches - 728 locos designed by ABB/Adtranz from 1999/2000- production passed to Bombardier. Coaches built in two series by Corifer, AB, then Hitachi. Series 1 have smaller intakes above the windows at the coach ends and different bogies to series 2. ALn501 "Menuetto" Diesel - Coradia Meridian family units built by Alstom in service 2005 HTR 412 "Blues"- Trimode (diesel / electric / battery) by Hitachi from 2022. Part of the "Masaccio" family ETR 561 "Rock" double deck electric units- made by Hitachi from 2017 ETR 104 "Pop" single deck electric units- made by Alstom from 2019 MDVE and MDVC (media distance vestibole estremo and centrale) coaches from the 1980s.
