Classic and Easy SANS RIVAL

Sans Rival or "without rival" is a classic Filipino dessert made of meringue wafers with buttercream garnished with roasted cashews- a bakery staple and surprisingly easy to make RECIPE: ( MERINGUE WAFER ) 130 grams ( 4 medium ) eggwhites 120 grams ( 1/2 cup ) fine granulated sugar 1 tablespoon cornstarch / corn flour 1/8 teaspoon cream of tartar 70 grams ( 1/2 cup ) chopped cashews ( BUTTERCREAM ) 4 eggyolks 70 grams ( 1/3 cup ) fine granulated sugar 200 grams ( 1 cup ) softened butter 1 teaspoon vanilla extract *200 grams ( 1 1/2 cups ) roasted cashews for garnish BAKING TIME: 50 - 55 minutes or until it turned light brown BAKING TEMPERATURE: 150'C BAKING PANS USED: 2 cookie sheets ( 12 x 15 inches ) , lined with parchment or baking paper SIZE OF CAKE: 6x 3 inches round OVEN USED: Convection electric oven, top and bottom heat *Sans Rival is a French term meaning "unrivaled" in English. This dessert lives up to its name because it is still popular to this day and has become a bakery staple to every pastry house in our country. *You can make the traditional way of French buttercream; but the method i used in the video is way easier for me *Adding the cornflour / cornstarch prevents the meringue from shrinking; it absorbs excess moisture from the eggwhites thus giving the chewy centre and crispy outer texture at the same time *You can also use pistachios, hazelnuts, almonds or regular peanuts for the wafers and garnish *Chill the cake in the fridge before serving to preserve the texture *DIFFERENT OVENS VARY IN TEMPERATURE SO PLEASE ADJUST ACCORDINGLY #yeyetbakes #sansrival #pinoyfood #meringue #dacquoise #dubailife If you like this video please leave a comment, share, like & subscribe to my channel and hit the notification bell for new recipes i will be sharing.
