On Sunday, October 15, 2023, 2 Time Stellar Award winning quartet group, The Brown Singers hosted A Tribute to the lead singer of the group, Lisa Knowles-Smith. Lisa started singing with her family's quartet group at the age of 9 and became the lead singer when she was just 12 years old. 31 years later, at the age of 40, she has achieved unimaginable success and her name is well respected throughout the gospel music industry. Lisa Knowles-Smith is known as one of the trailblazers for today's modern traditional quartet sound. The night was full of lots of love and some surprises including this Tribute Portion. Among the surprises were her children, 6 year-old Marcus Jr and 13 year old Kaiden (KJ) singing 2 of the first songs their mom recorded with the Brown Singers and her 20 year-old daughter N'dia singing one of the most popular songs "Work On Me" that Lisa wrote at the age of 14. Ashley Mackey, Shabreona Shaw, and special guest, Kim Burrell were all unexpected surprises for the tribute.
