My grandfather's brother, Edgar Smith and their mother had Hollybrook House during the 1930s and ran it as an hotel. This is a film of my family and others on holiday there in (I think) 1938. The film begins with the family car being loaded onto the ferry at Liverpool. --------------------------- This is from the brochure for the hotel: "Hollybrook ... 14 miles from the sea, in Co Sligo between Connemara and County Donegal. Formerly the old home of the ffolliott family, it is the scene of Carleton's novel "Willy Reilly and his Colleen Bawn". "It is beautifully situated on the west shore of Lough Arrow, and now adapted to meet the needs of an Hotel, offers many attractions to the sportsman, antiquarian and naturalist."
