Driver’s Eye View - Dresden (Germany) - T4DMT ČKD Tatra - Heritage City Tram Tour

Dresden is the capital city of the State of Saxony located in the former East Germany on the banks of the River Elbe. It is an attractive city with a rich history dating back as far as the late 12th century, to a Sorbian settlement called Drežďany (meaning either "woods" or "lowland forest-dweller"). It is one of the most visited cities in Germany with 4.7 million people a year staying in its hotels and guest houses. In this video we take a tour in T4DMT ČKD Tatra tram around part of the city’s tram network giving passengers the opportunity to see many of the historical buildings and sights that make this such a popular destination for tourists. To learn more about the city, please click on this link - https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Dresden The origin of the tram network can be traced back to 1872, when the first horse-drawn line opened between the city centre and the village of Blasewitz, now a borough of Dresden. Today’s network is approximately 134.0 km (83.3 miles) serving 154 tram stops. The tracks are built to a unique gauge of 1,450 mm (4 ft 9 3⁄32 ins) sometimes called the ‘Dresden Gauge’.
